Privacy Policy

Effective September 19, 2026. Barrio Resources LLC, doing business as Barrio Energy ("Barrio", "we"), Houston, Texas.

This policy covers barrioenergy.com and the Barrio Grid Connector (grid.barrioenergy.com), including its MCP server and REST API.

What we collect

• Queries. For each call to the Grid Connector: the tool called, its inputs (for example an address, coordinates or county), the time, response size, the calling IP address, the client user agent, and an anonymous session identifier or API key identifier.
• Geocoding cache. Addresses sent to the service are geocoded through the US Census Bureau geocoder and the result is cached.
• Accounts. Your email, sign-in times, and the searches and map areas you look at while signed in.
• Paid accounts. For Pro subscriptions we keep your email, a hash of your API key, and Stripe customer and subscription identifiers. Card details are handled by Stripe and never reach us.
• Newsletter and contact forms. The email address and message you submit.

How we use it

• To run the service, enforce usage limits, prevent abuse and fix problems.
• To respond to inquiries you send us, and to email account holders about their use of the service, including the areas they looked at. You can ask us to stop at any time.
• To deliver and bill paid API keys.
• To understand aggregate usage of the service.

We do not sell personal information and do not use it for third-party advertising.

Sharing

We share data only with providers that run the service for us: our hosting provider, Supabase (database), Stripe (payments), SendGrid (email) and the US Census Bureau geocoder (addresses only). We may disclose information if required by law.

Retention

Usage logs are kept for up to 24 months. Account records are kept while the relationship is active and as required for tax and legal records. You can ask us to delete your data at any time.

Your choices

Email ivan@barrioenergy.com to access, correct or delete your information, or to cancel a key. Pro subscriptions can be cancelled at any time.

Agents

When an AI assistant calls the Grid Connector on your behalf, we receive only what that assistant sends. We do not receive your conversation with the assistant. The assistant provider's own privacy policy governs what it does with your data.

Security

Traffic is encrypted with TLS. API keys are stored only as hashes. No system is perfectly secure.

Changes

We will post changes here with a new effective date.
